Olga Kusche-Iglesias is formally trained as an architect. She holds her Masters in Architecture and has a Graduate Certificate in Architectural History, Theory and Criticism from Florida International University, where she currently teaches undergraduate and graduate design courses as an adjunct professor in the School of Architecture. Operating under the name “Olga Kusig,” her independent practice is focused mainly on architecture and design projects as she continues to explore the lines between public art, design, and small scale installation.

As a professional, she specializes in interior renovations and project management, bringing a practical and detail-oriented approach to the execution of built work. Her experience working within a boutique design-build firm has informed her understanding of real-world building and construction practices, grounding her work in the realities of coordination, materiality, and implementation.

At the same time, her role as a professor allows her to approach seemingly straightforward and pragmatic projects with a more investigative and reflective perspective, often extending beyond conventional solutions. Her focus as an academic–which is reflected in her work as an artist–is on the importance of drawing, documentation, and the expression of hyperlocal narratives.

Her email signature sign off is: art, architecture, design, and bike activism.
